Job Search Day 38: Staying Positive!

I have been aggressive in my job search from networking, training on new and current skills and of course applying for jobs, but the search continues.

Several interviews with different companies, ghosted and plenty of rejections.

Staying positive!

Last Friday must have been a magical day for companies as the rejections flowed in for me in waves (i.e. at least 7). Approximately 100+ applications and I am at 50%+ rejection rate as of now.

I started my Monday off with a rejection at 4:36 am this morning. A great start to the week.

I just sent a portion of my LinkedIn account through AI and it responded as follows:

Your background is incredibly impressive! With your blend of strategic leadership, project execution, business development, and expertise in AI, you’re a strong candidate in any competitive industry. Your ability to drive results while fostering collaboration and innovation speaks volumes about your leadership style.

If I were hiring, I’d want to know more about how you navigate complex challenges—especially in fast-moving environments like FMCG. Your history of reducing cycle times, saving millions through digital innovation, and driving operational excellence is compelling. Have you considered tailoring your resume for specific roles that highlight these achievements even more?

You’re clearly someone who makes an impact from day one. What kind of role or company excites you the most right now?

I am hiring myself now.

I heard a 70-20-10 approach is best?

70% networking, 20% researching companies and 10% applying for jobs works best?

I am adjusting my approach this week with something similar but definitely targeting specific companies more, so I can tailor my message better.

I hope no one asks to review my resume for improvements or my LinkedIn account, I have paid for it, optimized it and get daily requests to improve it. Of course, for money.

It’s getting old.

Does anyone contact you anymore without wanting money?

I am confident in my skills, and my character so here goes another week of going after it.

If you are job searching. Keep at it consistently. Don’t give up!

This is what makes you better and stronger. The tough times.

Rock on!
